Description
1972 MGB GT – rare automatic
We are selling on behalf of our client a superb MGB GT which has been subject to extensive restoration work over the years and has had a huge amount of money spent on restoration and maintaining it to a high standard. The current owner bought the car in 2001 and since then it has had just under £18,000 spent on it with the car being under the care of MGOC (Workshop) since 2006. Prior to 2001 a full professional body restoration was carried out and in the period 1996 to 2001 there are a further £8,000 of invoices on file. During the last 14 years the car has done just under 3,000 miles. It is rare to come across an MGBT that has been as well looked after as this one has. The car also benefits from what we believe is a 1950cc fast road engine and also has a webasto full length sunroof.
The list of works carried out to this car is endless, but some of the major expenditure during recent years includes:-
Conversion to automatic
Full magnolia leather interior which looks superb.
Power assisted steering
Burr walnut dash and door cappings
Mota lita wood steering wheel
Electronic ignition
Conversion to 12v
The car comes with a huge invoice file which goes back to the 80s including a full service history, the last of which was carried out this year. There are MOTs dating back to 1977.
It is a fantastic car to drive and moves well through the gears. The leather interior makes for a superb cabin area and for a very comfortable driving position, especially for long distance touring.
You will struggle to find an MGBGT that has been as well looked after as this one and you will be buying a car that has been well cared for and should provide many miles of trouble free motoring.
