This Triumph TR4 has come to us from a deceased estate. It is a UK home market right hand drive car. The car has sat in a garage for the last 40 years and will need a complete restoration. The pictures will give a good idea of the general condition, but the main points to note are that the chassis is in good condition apart from minor surface rust. The body panels are also generally quite good with surface rust and the main panel with an issue is the lower nearside front wing which has an area of deeper corrosion. The panel fits as the photographs will show are actually very good with excellent door gaps on both sides. The underside issues are with the rear of the sills on both sides which will need attention as will some areas of the floor which are also corroded.

The car does not currently have front springs fitted which is why it is sitting low, but the springs that were removed are with the car. It has an interesting hard top which will fit the car although the fixings are not present. The soft top hood mechanism also comes with the car along with a worn hood.The nearside front wheel has a hub for a standard steel wheel although we do have the correct hub but not a fourth wire wheel.

This is not a matching numbers car, the number showing on the block is TS 14426E. The engine is seized.

It has been in the same ownership for many decades and looking at the paperwork we do have it is possible it was owned from new. We do not have a current V5 and the next custodian will have to apply to the DVLA for that. There is a limited amount of paperwork on file, but it does include a copy of an old registration document plus some very old invoices dating back to the 70s..

Overall despite its long period off the road, the car has been relatively well preserved and for someone with the right skill set, this car provides a good foundation for a full restoration. It is priced accordingly and leaves plenty of room to invest in its restoration.
