Description
We are very pleased to present something of a rarity which is a 1934 Austin Seven Cambridge Special. These cars were built in the 50s by the Cambridge Engineering Works based in Surrey. The cars were subjected to various performance modifications to give them some extra power including a high compression alloy cylinder head which is fitted to this car. This head was designed to provide a 6.8:1 compression ration rather than the original 5.8:1 and 4.9:1 cast iron heads. It also provided over 100% increase in water capacity to give cooler running, and has a deeply finned top for extra rigidity.
The condition of this particular example is very good and the car provides a unique and fun driving experience with plenty of extra power to bowl along country roads or perhaps for a trial or two. The car comes with a useful history file including a copy of the Cambridge Engineering Works booklet and a newspaper article detailing the history of this car and its previous owners.
We rarely see these cars come up for sale and this car presents someone with a good opportunity to get involved in the world of Austin Seven motoring.
