Description
1930 Morris Minor 4 seater tourer.
This car is the very rare four seater Morris Minor Tourer that is fitted with the 847cc overhead camshaft four cylinder engine which was also used in the MGs of that era. This was William Morris’ answer to the Austin Seven and he built a moré advanced car with a stronger chassis than the Austin Seven which combined with the OHC engine proved to be a very successful combination. The engine used by Morris went on to be fitted to the MG PA and PB. The car we are offering has been the subject of an extensive restoration having been found in barn find condition. The car has been subject to a full engine strip down and has also been treated to a new interior, paint and brand new wet weather gear including sidescreens. There is also the added benefit of hydraulic brakes which much improves the stopping power.
The mechanics are strong and the engine has been set up well. The car runs well and cleanly and the engine delivers a sprightly performance for a car of that era. The gearbox works well and is easy to use. The underside or the car is clean and as you will see from the pictures the engine bay is also nicely detailed. The primrose yellow with black wings really suits this car.
Importantly the car retains its original registration. The history file contains miscellaneous invoices relating to the restoration. We have some photographs on file showing the car in its barn find condition which demonstrates just how much love and work has gone into bringing the car back up to the condition it is in today.
We very rarely come across this model and this is the perfect opportunity to acquire a car that has had everything done and is now ready for the next season of pre war motoring.
